Guidelines for SpinningS...intense tales of life magazine

 

Stories: 2500 to 5000 words.  Submit one story at a time "inside" email to storiesandpoems@spinningsmagazine.com

Inside Email submissions only, unless we request your story as an attachment. 

  • Please submit stories in block style without tabs. Use Verdana 8 point font style and size.
  • EXAMPLE .  Double space your manuscript. Skip an extra space between paragraphs and dialogue.  We will indent, do the formatting and email the story back to you on a pdf galley for approval.  This is important, as we cannot always remove document formatting/tabs, which interferes with our document programs. Adhering to our guidelines will avoid print errors when your story is published in Skyline Magazine.
  • Manuscripts not submitted in this manner will be returned.

Begin your email with a brief synopsis and your author name and bio. We don't publish anonymous writers.

We look for intense, thrilling stories with a strong opening, rising to a full bodied, gripping storyline/conflict that climaxes in an unexpected (surprise) or very powerful conclusion.

Submit: mystery, suspense, thriller, gothic romance, romance, detective, horror, fantasy, sci fi (with a tasteful emphasis on arousal and sensuality -- but not porn. No political. No religious.)

Poetry:  Any style, any length.  Same genre as stories.

For other genre: "Our readers want to be pleasured with a lustful escape from reality. Show us excitement, intrigue, suspense. Lure us -- Scare the heck out of us -- but most of all...beguile our readers with unforgettable, irresistible passion."

SpinningS...intense tales of life is intended for mature readers only.  We will be compiling stories, poetry and art for inclusion in our bi annual print magazine; 80 pages of stories and poetry printed on #50 offset bond, including grayscale art and photography.  Covers are 100lb gloss, color inside and out containing fantastic artwork.  SpinningS Magazine is perfect bound.
